RESIDENTS at a Cookley care home welcomed dancing grannies, the Fizzogs, during their Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Black Country comedy group, the Fizzogs, returned to Westley Court Care Home, in Cookley, on Wednesday, September 28, to entertain residents during the fundraising event.
A video of four ‘grannies’ from the Black country dirty dancing, which became a world-wide internet hit, has now had a million Facebook shares. It was filmed at Stourbridge Carnival and the ‘elderly’ dance troupe left visitors in stitches by defying their apparent age to bust some raunchy moves to music hits, including ‘twerking’ to Beyonce’s Single Ladies and Gangnam Style by Psy.
Comedy trio The Fizzogs have been immortalised in art and have taken pride of place on the wall at an annual art exhibition in Dudley. The exhibition by the Dudley Society of Artists, now in its 87th year, opened on Saturday and will run until February 7, 2016.
The three ladies known as The Fizzogs got the crowds going at the weekend. Deborah Nichols, Jackie Fellows and Sue Hawkins play the three larger than life grandmas. They wandered onto The Bay stage on Sunday and burst into several dance routines stunning the crowd.
Most grandparents would struggle to understand what twerking is, let alone bust a raunchy move themselves. But these four dancers have proved themselves way ahead of the curve by filming their own video dancing to hits including Low by Flo Rider and Psy’s mega-hit Gangnam Style.
